SAND AND
DUST
Blowing dust and blowing sand conditions are encountered in all areas of the world, and in
ordinary industrial environments. Products need to be tested for their ability to
withstand ingress by these
contaminants, or abrasion by exposure to them. Items, such as dustproof enclosures (NEMA,
IP Ratings) and surface coatings, are subjected to various types of
airborne contaminants in our chambers. Environ
performs extensive sand and dust tests on equipment designed for military
applications in harsh climates.

EQUIPMENT
Multiple chambers ranging from 18" x 22.5" x 32" to 8' x 8' x 8',
plus a new 2' x 2' x 2' chamber for IEC Dust Tests.
CAPABILITIES/LIMITS
Many standard dust and sand conditions are simulated with controlled humidity,
temperature, air velocity and dust concentration.
