SOLAR
HEATING OF ENCLOSURES
Structures located outdoors are subject to heating from sunlight. If temperature sensitive
equipment or merchandise is located within, it is important to know what kind of
temperatures are reached
and whether any "hot spots" develop inside. Our test facility uses ultraviolet
short wave radiation generated by mercury vapor lamps to simulate sunlight and the heating
effects it causes. We meet Telcordia specifications, which require controlled ambient
temperatures and humidity.
SPECIFICATIONS
Telcordia; MIL-STD-810 and others
EQUIPMENT
FLIR Model SC500 Thermal Imaging System
Custom designed boards of mercury vapor lights to fit customer needs.
CAPABILITIES/LIMITS
Solar load of up to 1120 watts/m², unit size up to 8' x 8' x 8', temperatures are
controlled to + or - 5 degrees fahrenheit. Larger setups are available.
